Hire a breast pump
When you need a pump quickly, for short or long term hire, we have you covered!
-
You have the option to purchase or hire a breast pump, and depending on your reasons for needing a pump, the amount of time you’ll need it for and your longer term feeding goals, will determine what the best choice may be.
Hiring a pump is a good idea for those who:
Need access to a high quality pump quickly and cannot wait for postage (unfortunately there are little to no suitable breast pumps available for in store purchase on the Central Coast)
Are experiencing temporary breastfeeding issues and need to maintain a milk supply in the interim
Are not planning on utilising a breast pump further down the track (breast pump motors have a lifespan and wear even in storage, so may not be suitable to use for subsequent breastfeeding journeys)

We have 3 different breast pumps available for same or next day hire. Stocked brands are known and trusted by Kate, an expert in the field of lactation and pumping.
Choose from:
Spectra S1- a powerful and portable hospital grade pump with an inbuilt battery. Allows full control over cycle speed and suction strength.
Spectra S2- a powerful hospital grade pump requiring plug in power for use. Allows full control over cycle speed and suction strength.
Youha The ONE- a powerful and compact hospital grade pump with an inbuilt battery. Allows moderate control over cycle speed and suction strength.
All pumps are suitable for initiating your milk supply in those critical early days and weeks, or maintaining it further down the track. You can use as a single (one breast) or double pump (both breasts simultaneously). Come with pre-sterilised kits, ready for immediate use.

The flange (or breast shield) is the part of the pump that comes in contact with the breast and is shaped like a funnel. Flanges come in a variety of sizes, however pumps typically come with 24mm (or larger) flanges. Unfortunately this is far too large for the majority of women with the average size being around 15-17mm.
We support appropriate sizing and offer a range of options to ensure you can find your best fit.
You can:
Measure your nipples using our measuring tool available here
Purchase flange inserts or flanges
Hire a flange sizing kit as a stand alone hire, or in conjunction with our breast pumps to trial a range of sizes and see what is the most comfortable and effective size.
All face to face consultations can include sizing assessment and support.

Perhaps you’ve been told you need to use a breast pump to support your milk supply or feed your baby but have no idea what all the pieces are, how to connect them together or what settings to use. Our Pump Better course covers all of this and more.
For individual advice, an Initial Consultation with an IBCLC can be invaluable to support your long term breastfeeding goals.
